Over mij
Mijn naam is Thijn Hogeland, ik ben geboren op 10 augustus 2007 en ik woon in Apeldoorn. Ik ben lid van de Rosendaelsche Golfclub en van de Veluwse Golfclub. Op dit moment train ik keihard om mijn grote droom waar te maken: prof worden en op de tour spelen.
Mijn eerste kennismaking met golf
In 2022 pakte ik voor het eerst een golfclub vast. In het begin was het gewoon leuk om te proberen, maar in de winter van 2023 op 2024 besloot ik het serieus aan te pakken. Tot die tijd had ik altijd gehockeyd. Ik hield van beter worden en van winnen, maar bij hockey zit je vast aan teamtrainingen. Als je zelf extra wilde doen, was dat vaak lastig.
Waarom golf bij mij past
Golf is totaal anders. Je bepaalt zelf wanneer en hoe je traint. Die vrijheid past veel beter bij mij. Sinds ik ben begonnen, ben ik all-in gegaan. Ik train nu meer dan 30 uur per week, ga structureel naar de sportschool en zorg dat alles klopt. Van voeding en slaap tot planning en focus. Ik wil het maximale uit mezelf halen en geloof dat ik met mijn discipline ver kan komen.
Training en ontwikkeling
Ik doe mee aan golfTON, een trainingsprogramma voor jonge golfers met potentie. Daar werk ik onder begeleiding aan elk onderdeel van mijn spel, fysiek en mentaal. Alles om stap voor stap beter te worden.
Hoe GolfImprove begon
Al vanaf het begin vond ik het handig om mijn swing te filmen. Zo kon ik mezelf terugzien, analyseren en verbeteren. En als ik op een mooie baan speelde, wilde ik dat vastleggen. Voor mezelf, of om te delen. Maar een goed statief vinden was lastig. De statieven uit Amerika waren duur en met verzendkosten zat je al snel boven de tweehonderd euro.
Ik dacht dat moet anders. Simpeler, steviger en betaalbaarder. Dus ging ik het zelf maken. Na een paar prototypes en veel testen was het eerste GolfImprove statief klaar. Speciaal voor golfers die zichzelf willen filmen om beter te worden, net als ik. Wat begon als een oplossing voor mezelf is nu een product waar ik andere golfers mee help.
Mooiste golfmoment
Een van mijn mooiste rondes speelde ik op Skukuza Golf Club in Zuid-Afrika. Echt bizar. Elk dier dat je kunt bedenken liep daar rond. Op een gegeven moment sloeg ik zelfs over een groep nijlpaarden heen. Dat soort momenten maken golf voor mij extra bijzonder.

How It All Started
At the end of 2023, I, Thijn Hogeland, started golfing. Soon, I aimed to go pro and began filming my training sessions to improve my technique. But I kept running into the same problem: no tripod worked well for golf.
- Training alone? No good angle.
- Training with others? Bad camera angles.
- Ordering a tripod from the US? Too expensive and without a ground option, making it always unstable on the fairway.
After much frustration, I decided to develop a tripod myself—specially designed for golfers. That’s how Golfimprove was born.
